SAT II Subject Tests: History

While SAT II History test questions are somewhat more difficult, answers are often easy to eliminate if one has prepared properly. Normally, it is short on places and dates, but focuses on trends and policies.

In order by percentage of questions, the College Board emphasizes Political History, Economic History, Social History, Foreign Policy and, finally, Intellectual and Cultural History. These questions ask the student to interpret and recall facts, dates, concepts and generalizations. Additionally, the student will have to interpret and evaluate charts, graphs, maps, and other required data.
